November 27, 2006 A Letter to Heaven: Kevin, it's taken me this long to be able to get to a place where i can put my pain into perspective. Losing you has been a terrible shock to so many, and, as so many have already said, the loss is incalculably huge. You have been an extraordinary soldier, always giving 100%. You have been my daughter's best friend and northern star, giving her an everlasting legacy in your love for her. Your devotion to your little son will be recounted to him in many ways, many times, by all of us. Your fun-loving sense of humor, your willingness to always go out of your way for others, your drive and ambition and energy have been and will continue to be the inspiration for us to be the best we, in turn, have to offer to the world. I do not have any idea why this has happened, but perhaps by following your ideals we can continue your mission to make this a better place. You would not want us to be too grieved for too long, i think, but like our paris trip, pause to regroup and then carry on. You will be missed every day, until we meet again. Peace and love from all of us. "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. March 27, 2007 To the young family: It is with a heavy heart that I say my condolence’s go out to you. I was one of the Drill Sergeants that had daily interactions with your loved one. It's not hard to tell from all the other entries in this guest book, that you raised a fine young man. I know he put a number of smiles on my face during the 13 weeks he was here at Ft. Lee. He was a person that looked to make everyone around him smile. It's tough to find out that someone you know is no longer with us, especially such a great warrior. He will truly be missed, but NEVER be forgotten. Damian Anglin (Ft. Lee, VA)

March 8, 2006 Rick, Just a note to let you know our family's prayers are with you and yours. I was comforted by our telephone conversion. Clay and Josh were one and the same. They truly were brothers in arms. Though they left this earth together that day, they continue to be soldiers in God's Army. God bless you and your wife along with the rest of the family. Sincerely, >Patrick and Silver Farr Spc. Clay Patrick Farr KIA, Balad, Iraq 02/26/06 Patrick & Silver Farr (Bakersfield, CA)

May 3, 2006 Dear Sakoda Family- It's been a while since i've last seen Scrottie, but before I left for the mainland we'd surf mornings and nights together, there wasn't anywhere else as peaceful we'd agree. I'd always call him my little bro and as time went by we lost touch and i've been trying to contact him since, but I knew he was tryin' to start a life of his own. He makes me proud, he was always the guy doing what he said he would.... I'm glad he found love, happiness and fulfilled his dream before heading out on a better ride!!! My blessings are with you and I have no doubts that he left knowing he did all he could and that those he loved would be happy for him. May god bless you and your family and if Mrs. Suga evr reads this please contact my parents so that I can contact you. Much love from my family to yours. Mary Pedro (Hilo, HI)

At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." laurel (laurel, MD)

January 28, 2007 Conroy Wright . Sir , Sitting waiting to disembark from a flight from Washington DC last night I watched as people retrieved items from the overhead compartments . As a cardboard box was eased out I wondered it's contents until first seeing it was triangularly shaped , then that it had " Sgt " with a name written on one of the sides with a marker . It was a folded flag . Leaving the area we spoke briefly , directly , you in a soft voice . I will remember you , and wish you well into the future . Henry Deeks (Ashburnham, MA)

Lee, VA)
